This blog is primarily about my work in progress work for various train simuatiors and is meant to show progress of an object as I go along, feel free to comment or use a model (if you are able to download it) as you see fit.
I make these models from scratch, by hand with little help from scripts or other programs (except for example LODs). The textures are usually scratch built without any photo textures and a lot of effort goes into these models. All that matters is that you get some enjoyment out of them.
I never ask for money for my models, but if you think it is worth any money and you want to (this is completely optional), you are free to donate any money.

Another wagon!
As an offshoot of my previous post and getting my VPS working (Virtual Private Server click me to see what I mean), I’ve been trying to play with my latest asset from Blender. The good news is that the 10T tank Wagon is in Trainz, with LODs, with now rotating axles, bad news is that…

25000 polygons later… (Blender)
That was a bit unexpected, I got some serious optimisation to do! While trying to learn blender, I almost bar a few small things before it goes to the next stage, completed my tank wagon. It was an interesting project and the modelling took a week longer than I wanted, most of it is because…

Developing in Blender
This object is a tank full of trouble! Literally. It should be no secret that I am a MAX developer, I’m trained in it, I worked with it for years and well, it makes sense. So, I tried Blender, like I’ve been doing for years, I did have previous experience, but as in the future…

(Yet more) DEMU development
… and something else! This is sort of how the Class 205 is looking at the moment, unfortunately, progress is crawling as it is stuck in development hell. The other problem is how the scaling has affected the model data in GLB and I’ve also removed the textures for the time being, but yes, it…

Bogies! (MK3A? )
With the DEMU project, I decided to take on a massive undertaking. Massive isn’t the word, but we will go with it anyway. Rebuilding the bogies. If you seen the previous model in this post, you will see the old bogies. These were built slightly differently. I exported them out of Max 2009, into FBX…

More DEMU development
So I thought I’ll post the latest progress, the 3Dmodel below probably doesn’t do it justice as it is a plain colour, mainly to allow a smaller file size. However, below is a rendering taken from my program of choice – an older one too. (Mainly because developing in modern versions isn’t easy at the…

Another item!
Ok, I had a bit of a random thought with this one, hence why I had a change of project for the time being. You probably can guess what it will be, but I started as a believe it or not, a Class 416 DTSO model. Unusually, I also spent most of my time developing…

Bugs (Trainz work this time)
This is why I never consider anything finished. So latest thing is, I uploaded my EPB unit to my site which if you looked, you’d notice its a pretty old model. In preparing it for Trainz 2019+, which required a lot of changes (I mean a lot!) and plenty of dependency and bug fixing, I…

Rediscovering work… (Updated 16/07/25)
…. to publish on this site! Here comes another blog about WIP stuff, I’ve been trying to look for objects I’ve not touched but would like to publish for everyone to enjoy and this is one of them in its current form. Actually, I was messing with it on the train this morning but a…

Hard drive failures and found files
Not WIP as such but when I get some spare time and references, I do still work on it. This meant to be for Trainz and I think the file is released (you can download it here: https://wessexelectricnut.co.uk/files/wip/trainz/PRRB.cdp)So I’ve been looking through my files as I’ve had 2 hard drive failures, one on my main…

LEV 3/R3 Railbus
On my main blog, WordPress blog, you may have noticed I was making this: You may of noticed that I’ve actually used the exported model in the model above and not that you can’t see it at all, there is some detail missing, this is deliberate as I managed to split the assets up into…

And while I’m blogging.
I thought I’d upload a model for everyone to be mesmerized by. Its LEV 3 – well a hybrid of LEV 2 and LEV 3. I’m not 100% sure on its history so I can’t write up an entire history of it, but I do know that it started life at Wokington, bodied using Leyland…
