I think you can safely say that I am insane now. This network project has gone on way too long than I expected too.
I created this video on 09/10/2026, so is more than a few days out, I was staying in Scotland in a lovely place in Whitebridge. Seriously, it’s a lovely out of the way place and it accepts dogs. I’ve been twice and there is one slight problem from a system admin point of view (and the booking wasn’t in my name I should say)
The Wi-Fi isn’t the best, I found this with previous experiences, so I prepared for that, the video below explains.
In the video, I mentioned the raspberry pi and the GL inet, I had problems with the Wi-Fi, so it gave me a chance to try out the antenna, it worked, I got 3 seconds of 12db gain and then the Wi-Fi adapter broke. They only cost me £7 but they aren’t very good, they also had a fatal flaw, they don’t accept incoming connections, so can’t be a AP themselves whereas the PI can. I may talk more about this in the future as it is more infrastructure than anything else. I also didn’t really use my laptop either. Only for about an hour at the most, I used my Samsung Galaxy Tab most of the time, which I may use more of in the future. I was also surprised that the high gain antennas on the GL iNet worked, really well.
